Hi @BIGBIZGIL
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 4650 isn't powering on, even though it's plugged in. This could be due to a faulty power connection, internal hardware failure, or a power module issue.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is still on (if possible).
- Unplug the other end from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and try turning on the printer.
2. Check the Power Source
- Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet, avoiding power strips or surge protectors.
- Test the outlet with another device to confirm it’s working.
3. Inspect the Power Cable & Adapter
- Look for any visible damage on the power cord.
- If possible, try using a compatible HP power adapter from another device.
4. Reset the Printer’s Power Module
- If your printer has an external power module, unplug it for 60 seconds, then reconnect it.
5. Check for Physical Obstructions
- Open the printer and ensure there are no paper jams or stuck components that might be interfering with startup.
If none of these steps work, the issue may be with the internal power module, which would require replacement.
