Hi! @TouchSmartSam, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand when you boot into your PC the password screen will not show up.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned when you boot into your PC the password screen will not show up.

Try the steps recommended below.

Try pressing the Ctrl key and just type your password blind

Meanwhile here is the workaround.

press Crtl+Alt+Delete keys.

That should bring back the sign in screen with the password box.

Press the shift button and restart. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
Enter the safe mode. After booting the machine with safe mode, it will prompt you the password screen to login.
Login and uncheck the "safe boot". Now, it prompted to enter the password to login.

Tap or click the search form in the taskbar and type msconfig

Select Boot tab and uncheck the box, Safe boot.

Click ok and apply.

Restart your PC in a normal mode and check if you are getting the password screen.
