Pavilion 15 dk-0055nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased a Pavilion 15 dk-0055nr gaming laptop. (Intel Core i5-9300h; 8 GB RAM)

NOTE: I am not a gamer; I bought it because it had a reduced price and the specifications looked good.

I mostly am pleased with it, but it worries me sometimes by running hot. I was wondering at what temperature does the heat become dangerous to the continued health of the computer. I keep the slots cleaned out with canned gas, and operate it on one of those wire rack trays (passive cooling) which raises the laptop up off the desk surface. I also have CoreTemp installed, which puts the computer to sleep if it overheats.

However, I am afraid to run the charity sites Free Rice and Greater Good on my new computer, because if I do not allow the accompanying sponsored ads to run, the donations are not made--and the ads overheat the computer. I think the ads are the problem, because if I use my Disconnect program to block the ads, the computer runs significantly cooler. But again, if I block the ads on the charity sites, the donations I click for do not get made. The temperatures exceed 90 Celsius with disturbing frequency and length if I try to run the charity sites on the new computer. I now run those sites on an older computer, which does not overheat. (Old PC is an Acer Aspire 7739 running Win 7 with 4GB RAM.)

Hence, I would like to know how hot my new computer can run before it is endangered.

>>>> how hot is too hot?

When machine shut itself down.

Normally, it can run over 90°C but not for days. Keep it cool down after few hours should be OK.  Please try :
