I just bought a used DM1 on eBay.
The hard drive was removed, but there is a Windows 7 logo sticker on the palmrest indicating that the laptop originally came with Windows 7.
Is there any hope of getting a HP Windows 7 CD for installing Windows 7 back on the laptop?

Hi:
If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on the notebook's case, you can make your own W7 installation media.
Download the W7 x64 ISO file from the link below--toward the bottom of the page.
Use the microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.
After W7 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your specific dm1's support page.
Since the ISO file is a retail one, and the product key on your notebook's case is OEM, you may need to use the automated Microsoft phone activation system to activate the installation.
If there is no product key sticker, then you can see if you can still order recovery media from this vendor...

You must input the exact model number of the notebook since recovery kits are model-specific.
