Hi @Wolbaz,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are not getting any display on the external monitor after performing a reset.

I’d love to help!

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • How did you perform the reset? (USB/F11)
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to try using a VGA cable and check. Also, try connecting it to a TV or other display.

Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.

Take care!

Cheers!

I used F11, there isn't a vga output on the notebook, just hdmi. I've tried two tv's and a Dell monitor. Still nothing on second screen. Also tried the magnet over the lid closed sensor, nothing. My smart phone and hotspot off of it, is my computer and internet access.

Hi @Wolbaz,

Thank you for the information.

I would like to know whether the recovery completed successfully and did you setup the computer after recovery?

I recommend you to try booting to safe mode by tapping the F8 on start up and see if you get display on the external monitor.

Let me know how it goes.
