Hi, My laptop asks for a administrator password and after 3 attempts gives me a system disabled code of 53758541.  I believe this generates a password?  Please help.  I'm locked out of my laptop

Thanks

Thank you thank you thank you.

I have 2 more problems.

1.  when it comes on before loading it says "the system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly."

System fan <90B>  is this a hardware issue?  can I fix it?

2.  My daughter put a password on here and has since forgotten it, can I clear it or remove it to get in?

Thank you for the advice, so grateful

Hi,

You're welcome :generic:

The 90B error related to the system fan is a hardware issue and most likely means it will need to be replaced - my best advice would be to get an estimate from a local computer repair shop.

As far as the account password is concerned, there is a general policy on the Forum not to provide methods to bypass Windows log-on passwords, however a local computer shop would be able to do this for you.

Another option, if all your personal data etc is backed-up, would be to reset the notebook to its 'Factory Condition' and then set it up from the beginning – if you don’t have your Recovery Media, the notebook will have shipped with a Recovery Partition which can be accessed at boot - ie shutdown the notebook, then start tapping away at f11 as soon as you power on.  Note:  Before attempting a recovery, the issue with the system fan should be corrected otherwise the machine will most likely over-heat.

Thank you, I'm off to the computer people.  They can fix the fan and unlock it for me.  Once again thank you.  I feel like a boffin now, even if for only 5 minutes 🙂
