My laptop keeps switching off whenever it is even slightly moved. I looked up to see if anyone else was having a similar problem and someone said it could be charged by static. Anyway, upon startup I ran a test and it came back with this failure id:

9LJ8GF-7GA9KX-MFPWLJ-COFU03.  It also said something about the battery.

If anyone knows what this means please could you help me.

Is it fixable?

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community.

Could you elaborate on what happens and what you mean by "slightly moved" ? Do you get it out from the charger/outlet and after that it powers off ?

The error code tells me that your PC is out of warranty period and that the battery has failed.

Looking forward to your reply/clarifications/update

Hello,

Thank you for replying to my question.

Whenever I move  it (say lift it off my lap and place it on the table) it just cuts out and I have to re-start it. I always keep my laptop plugged in/charging so this happens when its plugged in. I have to be really careful to keep very still when using it as even if it moves very slightly on my lap it cuts out.

*In my first post I meant to say 'caused by static' not 'charged by static'.

Thank you for explaining the failure id code, I will look into getting a battery.

Best wishes,

Carly
