Hi @Maggii,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Laptop PC 15s is experiencing a serious issue. Here are some steps you can try to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.

Check the Power Supply:

  • Ensure the power adapter is properly connected to the laptop and the wall outlet.
  • Verify that the wall outlet is functioning by testing it with another device.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices (e.g., USB drives, external monitors).
  • Disconnect the power adapter.
  • If the battery is removable, remove it.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter (and battery if applicable).
  • Try turning on the laptop.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Check for any visible damage to the laptop, power adapter, or charging port.
  • Look for any signs of overheating, such as burnt smells or discoloration.

Try an Alternate Power Source:

  • If you have another compatible power adapter, try using it to see if the issue is with the power adapter.

Remove and Reseat RAM:

  • If you're comfortable opening your laptop, try removing and reseating the RAM modules. Ensure the laptop is powered off and unplugged before doing this.

Cooling and Ventilation:

  • Ensure the laptop is in a well-ventilated area and not placed on a soft surface that could block ventilation.
  • Check for dust or debris in the cooling vents and clean them if necessary.

External Monitor Test:

  • If you have access to an external monitor, connect your laptop to it to check if the issue is with the laptop's display.

Listen for Beeps or Indicator Lights:

  • When you try to turn on the laptop, listen for any beeps or observe any indicator lights. These can sometimes indicate specific issues.

Check Battery Status:

  • If the battery is removable, try turning on the laptop with the battery removed and just the power adapter connected. This can help determine if the battery is causing the issue.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a more serious hardware problem, such as a failed component on the motherboard or an issue with the internal power supply.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
