Hp laptop does not start

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

Let's work together to get your HP notebook up and running again.

If your laptop does not power on at all or shows no lights or display, please try the following steps:

Basic Hardware Reset (Hard Reset)

  1. Disconnect all peripherals (USB drives, printers, etc.).
  2. Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
  4. Reconnect only the AC adapter (leave battery out if removable).
  5. Press the Power button and check if the laptop starts.

Check for LED or Beep Codes

  • If you see blinking lights or hear beep sounds, they may indicate a hardware issue.
  • Count the blinks/beeps and refer to this guide:

If the Laptop Powers On but Shows a Black Screen

Try a BIOS recovery:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B for 10 seconds.
  4. If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear.

If Battery or Charger Might Be the Issue

  • Try a different HP-compatible charger.
  • Check the charging port for damage or debris.
  • If the battery is removable, try starting the laptop with only the charger connected.

If none of the steps help, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
