Hi @Adaholic,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Omnibook 5 shows no signs of power at all (no lights, no fan spin, no charging indicator); it usually points to a power supply or hardware fault rather than a simple software issue. Here are the steps you can try:

 Troubleshooting Steps

1. Check Power Source

Plug the charger into a different wall socket.

Test with another compatible HP charger if available.

Look for the charging LED — if it doesn’t light up, the issue is likely power‑related.

2. Remove External Devices

Disconnect USB devices, external drives, and accessories.

Sometimes peripherals can block startup.

3. Hard Reset

Disconnect the charger and battery (if removable).

Hold the power button for 30–60 seconds.

Reconnect only the charger (without battery if removable) → try powering on.

4. Battery/Charger Health

If the battery is removable, try powering on with charger only.

If it works, the battery may be faulty.

If it doesn’t, the charger or motherboard may be at fault.

5. Inspect for Signs of Life

Any faint LED blink, fan twitch, or screen flash?

If none at all, it’s usually a motherboard or DC‑in board failure.

 I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
