I am experiencing significant performance issues with my HP Victus 16.1" Gaming Laptop. After a certain period of usage, the laptop becomes slow, laggy, and eventually becomes completely unresponsive. This unresponsiveness persists beyond the initial slowdown period of approximately 10 seconds. Despite performing a full factory reset and implementing various troubleshooting steps like cleaning the vents, updating drivers, disabling startup programs, and adjusting power settings, the issue remains unresolved.
The laptop functions normally when watching YouTube videos and other videos but exhibits severe slowdown and unresponsiveness during general usage and other activities such as playing games. The laptop remains unresponsive until I force shut it off and turn it back on, but every time I do that, it gives me a CMOS Checksum error (which isn't the issue since it tells me to hit enter to restart it and that gets rid of the error).
I kindly request assistance in resolving this persistent performance issue. Any guidance, suggestions, or further troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

1. After a certain period of usage, the laptop becomes slow, laggy, and eventually becomes completely unresponsive
That is due to heat. More works specially games will generate heat and make machine slowing down. Keep it cooler using cool pad should help.
2. The laptop functions normally when watching YouTube videos and other videos
Watching videos or do light works won't generate much heat therefore machine run as normal
As mentioned above, keep machine cooler using cooling pad such as

Thank you for your suggestion and for addressing the potential heat-related issue. However, I don't believe that heat is the sole cause of the problem I'm experiencing with my HP Victus 16.1" Gaming Laptop. Let me explain further:
The performance issues, slowdowns, and unresponsiveness occur not only during gaming but also when performing lighter tasks like browsing the web. Additionally, during the recent episode of unresponsiveness, I waited awhile to see what would happen (usually I just force shut it off right away) and thenI received a "werfault.exe" popup, followed by the closure of all open applications. After that, the laptop became completely unresponsive again, displaying only a black screen with a movable cursor.
Considering these symptoms, it appears to be a more complex issue beyond just heat-related concerns. I have already performed a full factory reset, cleaned the vents, updated drivers, disabled startup programs, and adjusted power settings, but the problem persists.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this issue and prevent the recurring unresponsiveness.
