Dear HP Support,
I am reaching out to request assistance with my HP ProBook 455 G10 (15.6 inch) laptop.
Device Details:
Product Name: HP ProBook 455 G10
Region of Use: Sri Lanka
Region of Purchase: China (purchased through a neighbor who brought it from China to Sri Lanka)
Issue Summary:
From the date of purchase, the fingerprint sensor has never worked.Recently, I performed a clean installation of Windows 11 Home (English) using a bootable USB the following components stopped working:
Built-in camera: now shows a A greenish picture with green lines
Internal speakers: no audio output
Troubleshooting Already Done:
1. Installed all recommended drivers from the HP US and HP Hong Kong websites
2. Installed and used HP Support Assistant to detect updates
3. Ran HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) – all tests passed successfully including camera and audio except fingerprint sensor)
4. Successfully estored original Windows through recovery tools, but the issues not solved
5. Reinstalled drivers in the correct order (chipset, graphics, audio, camera, biometric, etc.)
Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issues.
🙏 Request:
Despite the hardware diagnostics passing and my thorough attempts at driver installation and system restoration, these critical functionalities remain non-operational. I suspect there might be a deeper software incompatibility or a region-specific driver requirement, especially given the laptop's purchase origin. Could you please provide guidance on further steps or advise on potential solutions? I am eager to resolve these problems and fully utilize my laptop's features.
Kind regards,
Lahiru Dasun

Fingerprinting in general is an optional you can have externally the box to put your finger, but internally you have no hardware for fingerprinting.
Now try to upgrade using HPIA, it is the most recommended for business notebook.
