Please I need your help, my laptop is showing the following message when I press F2 at boot:
Password/Unlock Key:___________
Unlock Key Hint Number: D515D73C
I don't know what my unlock key is.. is there any way to reset it or can you provide it to me? I seen another posts where that happens, isn't it possible with my laptop model?
Thanks!!

Hi,
Your notebook is producing a hexadecimal halt code which is stored in ram as a 'one off' and will be re-calculated after a reboot. This indicates you have one of the later AMI bios's and unfortunately none of the current code generators will work for this - surprisingly, you can still remove a power on password from the machine by removing the rtc cell ( leave the power board connected ) then hold down the power button for 60 seconds before re-inserting the rtc.
The bad news is that the rtc is usually on the 'wrong' side of the system board so will require quite a lot of disassembly.

It is possible to have the BIOS admin password reset, it does depend on the model and when your unit was manufactured. For your unit, I would recommend calling +1 800-474-6836, the HP North American Consumer Support line, to see if they have the tools available to get this done for you.

David, thanks for answering so quickly...
The code remains the same even after shutdown, but changes if I enter it incorrectly three times.
I tried the procedure you've described but didn't work maybe I did it wrong because no matter if I disconnect battery or not, if leave AC plugged doesn't seems to work.
This is what I did:
Power off the latop
removed cmos battery
removed battery
Leaving the power cord connected pressed the on/off button for 60 seconds (the screen turned on and of intermitently)
put cmos battery back on
turn laptop on
that didn't work for me it stills showing the same error with the same code I wrote in the original post..
I heard that some bios can be resseted by making a bridge in 2 pines i assume is not the case in this one.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks Again!!
