Please do your Linux-loving customers (and even the windows users, by the sounds of it) a favor and give us a BIOS option to throw out the so-called "Modern" Standby and use good ole Deep Sleep (S3/Suspend to RAM).
The problem, on my brand new Ubuntu 20.04 install on my brand new HP Spectre: a single overnight "suspended" completely drains my battery. This is obviously ridiculous, considering how much I spent for this laptop. And as best I can tell, from various forums, it's the fault of Window's so-called "Modern" Standby. As evidenced by:
# cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
[s2idle]
See also, note the lack of support for S3
# dmesg | grep -i acpi | grep supports
[ 0.201351] ACPI: (supports S0 S4 S5)
[ 0.487639] acpi PNP0A08:00: _OSC: OS supports [ExtendedConfig ASPM ClockPM Segments MSI HPX-Type3]
Is there any possibility of getting this resolved?
