Good day!

There is an HP laptop with Windows 8.1 preinstalled

[personal information removed]

But no distribution is suitable for this key

Please help with finding a distribution suitable for this key

HP Recommended

The license key/product key for Windows 8.1 is stored in BIOS and will be retrieved during a fresh Windows install. Microsoft offers a download for a Windows 8.1 ISO to convert to bootable usb flash drive or dvd. I strongly recommend using a usb flash drive because Secure Boot enabled in BIOS will give problems booting from a dvd.
