Stream notebook -11-015na

About 6weeks ago my notebook started, and I was eventually presented with the  BSoD. I was also presented with various options as what to do. Unfortunately no of which worked. But then there was Command ( and Command Prompt). Nono of which I had zero knowledge of. But, I thought I could have a a go at Command. And, lo and behold, it did produce some results. ( I was going through a list of CMD prompts on Fossbytes).         What I did find is that my C drive had changed to “x”. And out of the long list of files presented, It apppeared most that the vast majority ended in  “Kernel” .         However, I later saw somewhere that to cure this I should download to a USB a copy of Windows 10 , the full OS. Any thoughts, ideas, etc, would be gratefully received. Thanks, from a complete Dummy no

Hi,

You can try reinstalling the OS on the device. It does not have much storage.

You can create a USB drive with the OS on it from Microsoft (on different PC) choose Windows 10 Home 64 bit

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Insert the USB in the notebook. Turn on the and repeatedly press ESC until startup menu appears. Press F9 for boot menu and choose the USB drive.

Continue the installation procedure. Choose custom install and delete all partitions, Install in unallocated space. Once installed go into settings and completely update the machine. Windows will find drivers. It can take a while.

Hope it helps,
