Hi @Emmaris,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • The exact model  of your HP 15 laptop
  • Whether the battery is the original HP battery or a replacement.
  • If you see any charging indicator lights when the laptop is plugged in.
  • Whether the battery percentage changes at all when connected to AC power.

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Battery Reset
    • Shut down the laptop, disconnect the charger,
    • Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to discharge residual power.
    • reconnect the charger, and try powering on the laptop.
  2. Check Battery Health
    • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics by pressing F2 during startup.
    • Select the battery test to confirm whether the battery is functioning correctly.
  3. Update BIOS and Drivers
    • Open HP Support Assistant or visit HP’s official support website to check for BIOS and chipset driver updates.
    • Outdated firmware can sometimes cause charging or detection issues.
  4. Inspect the Charger and Port
    • Ensure you are using the original HP charger that came with the laptop.
    • Try a different compatible HP charger if available, to rule out adapter issues.
    • Check the charging port for dust or damage that may prevent proper connection.
  5. Battery Calibration
  • If the battery is detected but not holding charge, try calibrating it by fully charging, then fully discharging, and recharging again.

If the laptop still does not power on without AC after these steps, it may indicate a hardware issue with the battery or charging circuit.

I hope this helps.
