Hi @JasDeDj,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the power on screen of your HP G61 laptop is not working, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check if the laptop is actually turning on: Even if the power on screen is not working, the laptop may still be turning on. Check if you can hear any sounds from the laptop like the fans spinning or the hard drive starting up. Also, check if the keyboard lights come on when you press the power button.
  • Try an external display: Connect your laptop to an external display, like a monitor or TV, using an HDMI or VGA cable. If the external display shows the laptop's display, then the problem is likely with the laptop's screen or graphics card.
  • Remove the battery: Turn off the laptop and unplug it from the power source. Remove the battery from the laptop and hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds. Then, put the battery back in and try turning on the laptop again.
  • Reset the BIOS: The BIOS controls the hardware of the laptop, including the display. Resetting the BIOS can sometimes fix display issues. To reset the BIOS, turn off the laptop and unplug it from the power source. Remove the battery and locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard (it looks like a small, round battery). Remove the CMOS battery and wait for 10-15 minutes. Then, put the CMOS battery back in and try turning on the laptop again.

If none of these solutions work, the issue may be with the laptop's screen or graphics card,

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
