dv6-2174TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I had bought my latop DV6-2174TX several years ago having a preinstalled version of Windows 7 Home Edition. But when Windows 10 became available i did a free upgrade to Windows 7. But it seems my laptop configuration (4 GB, DDR2 RAM, Core i3) is not fit enough to run Windows 10 smoothly.

Now i would like to revert back to Windows 7. I have my product key intact. Where could i download the preinstalled version of Windows 7 which was provided originally by HP, when i bought the laptop?

You have/had software on the laptop to make a backup set of Recovery Media on dvd or usb flash drive. Did you make it and put it away perhaps? If not and you have the intact key you can download an ISO here of Windows 7. Just be sure you download the version that matches your key- Windows 7 Home Premium most likely.

Download and Save it to a folder on the computer. I have attached a tool to convert it to bootable usb flash drive or dvd. A usb flash drive is much faster to use when installing.

Thank you dear Cheryl. I was able to download and install Windows 7 in my machine. I really appreciate your help.

After Windows 7 installation, i tried running windows updates. Several of them updated successfully and several failed, so i tried again and the updates were getting successfully installed. But after certain update the display driver (NVIDIA GeFORCE) stopped working and it would go to blue screen after boot up. I am currently doing a system restore to a point before th latest update. I'll keep you posted if i get stuck

Most of the drivers on your Support page are fairly old- but the nvidia may work better than the one from Windows Update:
