HP Laptop startup is stuck on Preparing Automatic Repair. It did an update two days ago, walked away to go to work. Yesterday when i turned it on, it kept saying Preparing Automatic Repair, and just kept doing that.  Today, i looked up a troubleshooting video that showed me how to run some tests. The USB Port test  is the only thing that failed and not sure what to do next. Is that really the issue? I'm not a tech person, so I'm not sure about tech language.

If the hard drive test passed, you'll need to realod Windows. Are you sure the USB port does not work? You can test it by using an external wired mouse in BIOS

I haven't used the USB in a while. The only thing I had plugged into it was the wireless mouse USB plug. I ran the test again with a different USB and still said the same thing. I'm now attempting the system restart (unplugged from all cords and battery). My husband is putting everything back so I can proceed.
