Was on my laptop watching a how to video it then made a noise and screen went blue had a message on it but went black before I could see more then the sad face “:(“ on the screen. It then went through some codes on a black screen and then said “Preparing Automatic Repair” and then back to the code screen and back and forth over and over. I did do the Quick Tests system check and it passed so I tried the F11 for the Recovery but it goes to a black screen and says “Please Wait” then after about a minute it goes right back to the “Preparing Automatic Repair” screen and then the code screen and back and forth. How do I do the Recovery? How do I fix this problem, I desperately need my laptop?!

@Bri0813
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Let's try Microsoft system restore:
System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected.
You can also undo a System Restore if the restore does not resolve the issue or if the issue becomes worse.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

None of this was helpful to my situation. I turn off the laptop and turn it on pressing the F11 button then it gets to a screen that says “Please wait” then acts like it going to load and then goes back the screen that says “Preparing Automatic Repair” then acts like it’s going to load. Then it just goes back and forth between the two screens of “Preparing Automatic Repair” and a screen that says and I quote:
The operating system did not shutdown cleanly.
Reconstructing Cache Metadata.

Then right back to “Preparing Automatic Repair”
Im not sure what to do. I wasn’t even trying to shut it down when this happened I was watching a video on how to do something.

@Bri0813 The best way to get out of the Windows Automatic Repair loop is to disable early launch anti-malware protection. You can do this from Command Prompt in the Windows Boot Options menu which will begin to appear after your restart your computer several times.
1) Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings. Your computer will restart then present you with a list of options.
2) Choose "Disable early launch anti-malware protection".
3) Restart your PC and check if you can boot into Windows.
If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
