@Alina49, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand your HP laptop is stuck in a “Preparing Automatic Repair” loop, and I’ll guide you through steps to resolve this.
Perform a Hard Reset
Sometimes a simple reset can break the loop:
- Power off the laptop completely.
- Disconnect all external devices (USBs, printers, etc.).
- Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on again.
Boot into Recovery Mode
If the loop continues:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until the Choose an option screen appears.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
Use System Restore (if available)
- From the same Advanced options menu, choose System Restore.
- Follow the prompts to restore your system to a point before the issue began.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
To rule out hardware issues:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly, then press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the System Tests (especially the Hard Drive and Memory tests).
Reset the PC (if other steps fail)
If nothing works, you may need to reset Windows:
- Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
- Choose Keep my files (if you want to preserve personal data) or Remove everything.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
