Presario C700
Microsoft Windows Vista

I have a Presario C700 notebook with Vista 32 bit currently installed.  Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2390 @1.86GHZ with 2.00 GB RAM.  Since Vista is no longer supported would it be possible to upgrade to Win 7 32 bit without any known problems?

Thanks for your help in this matter

You can't buy W7 from Microsoft anymore, and there are probably very few retailers that still have it for sale.

You can probably find W7 Home Premium retail upgrade kits on eBay, but I would try to find one that is new and sealed.

You can reuse a Home Premium retail upgrade key but you'll probably have to activate the software over the phone.

Hi:

You should be able to run W7 on our notebook, and if it needs any drivers, usually the Vista drivers will work.

Just to be sure, run the W7 Upgrade Advisor and see what it reports...

You're very welcome.

If you need any assistance finding drivers for your notebook (I think HP retired support for that model series), let me know, and I'll see what I can do to help.

I thought I was ready to do this but must wait a couple of weeks. If I run into trouble I will repost with that problem. Thanks again

I appreciate all the help but think I will give this laptop back to my paw in law and let him get by with what he has.

Thanks again.
