Hi guys,
Over the past few months, my HP laptop has come up with a 'HP Battery Alert' when booting up. I have the fault message that states 'Primary (Internal) Battery (601). When the laptop is on and booted up (without the charger in), the laptop would switch off and die. I would then put the charger in and boot up again with the same message popping up each time. Also when having the charger in, the laptop keeps changing to say that laptop is charge and then not charged many times. I believe this is not the charger as I have two which the same thing occurs. I have also tried a few things that I have seen from the HP website, including a battery check, in which I have a failure id, along with other bits of information. I was wondering if anyone could help or has experienced this and could help overcome this current issue I am having.
Thanks,
Luke

It simply means you have to replace its battery which is 4-cell, 41 Wh Li-ion battery part # 919701-850 as shown on page 21 of the following manual
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257.pdf
You can order from https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=919701-850 or use part # to buy elsewhere
Regards.
