Have 2 trays setup for different media
Tray 1 A5 Intermediate type paper
Tray 2 Letter plain paper
Have tried Auto detect, but when printing to A5 it doesnt print correctly due to different thickness of
paper, thus why I have to change it to Intermediate
Setup duplicate printer with different settings
Printer 1 with A5 and intermediate paper type Tray 1
Printer as Letter plain
Both configured to match printer settings on printer
Problem arises when trying to print letter size with intermediate paper
I get a message that paper source has changed. Do you want to Use Printer 2 with
Intermediate paper settings. Message box OK to continue.
I click ok, but it prints to other tray (Tray 1 configured for A5)
which is the wrong size but right paper type.
Only way to get to print to Tray 2 is have to take paper out of tray 1 then it will print to tray2.
I would like to disable this warning on continue with printing to correct tray

@bnbunch, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Change Tray 2 media type to Intermediate
Go to your printer's settings (on the printer screen or web interface).
Set Tray 2 media type to Intermediate.
Now it can match both Letter size and Intermediate paper.
Force Tray 2 in printer settings
Open Printer Properties for the Letter printer.
Set:
Paper Size = Letter
Media Type = Intermediate
Tray/Paper Source = Tray 2 (do not use Auto)
Click OK and print.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
