HP Spectre x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-eu0000 IDS Base Model

I had a truly awful experience after receiving an HP Spectre 14"  laptop which I ordered directly from hp.com. An incorrect ProdID (7K631AV) was printed on the bottom of the laptop but the serial number was correct. I was unaware that the ProdId was incorrect. I tried to resolve a separate problem by going to several HP online help sites and calling several HP product support phone numbers. But each time I was automatically rejected entry due to an incorrect ProdId or serial number. It was exasperating. No customer should be subjected to this treatment. By chance, I came across yet another phone number ([Information Removed]) where I was able to speak to a tech directly from the start. He told me that my ProdId, printed on the body of the laptop, was incorrect in one digit. He did not seem surprised at this. He gave me the correct ProdId (7K635 AV) and was able to help me. He was indeed excellent.  I hope that others will be aware of this issue and are able to avoid this unpleasant experience.

I have HP laptop cr1005cl and if I enter the serial number at the below parts list website

 

https://partsurfer.hp.com/

 

I am told that the serial number is insufficient to identify the laptop.  They then provide a list of product ID's and I am able to match one of them against my laptop.

 

out of curiosity, can you put your serial number at that site and see if more than one product ID is shown?

Too bad the phone number was erased.  I have no idea how to get a phone number to HP support myself.
