What is shown above is the status of the lap now. What should be done about it? It has been a long time since last night and now it has been around twelve hours. Is there any way for me to stop this? All my tasks have stopped because of this situation.

Hi @Kushan2004,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP laptop is stuck in a reset or recovery loop. Here’s what you can try to resolve the issue.

Hard Reboot

  • Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop completely shuts down.
  • Wait a few seconds, then turn it back on and see if it boots normally.

Interrupt the Reset Process

If the hard reboot doesn’t work, you might need to interrupt the reset process:

  • Press and hold the power button to turn off the laptop again.
  • Wait a minute, then turn it back on.
  • If it still doesn't start, try this a couple of times.

Access Safe Mode

If the laptop starts to boot but doesn’t fully load:

  • Interrupt the boot process three times (by pressing and holding the power button) to trigger Windows Recovery Environment.
  • Once in the recovery menu, go to Advanced options and select Startup Settings.
  • Click Restart and then choose Safe Mode.

System Recovery Options

If you can get to the Windows Recovery Environment:

  • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options.
  • Select System Restore if you have a restore point set up. This can revert your system to a previous state.
  • If System Restore is not available, you might need to use Reset this PC but ensure you choose the option to keep your files if possible.

BIOS/UEFI Settings

Sometimes boot issues can be related to BIOS/UEFI settings:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Turn it back on and immediately start pressing F10 (or Esc for the boot menu) to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • Check if there are any boot order issues or hardware-related settings that need adjusting.

It’s crucial not to turn off or unplug the laptop repeatedly during a reset or recovery process as it might cause further issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
