Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
MKazi is at your service.
I understand that you have an HP Spectre x360 series laptop and the Win10 1803 update does not install and a blue screen has appeared with the mention "Memory Management". Not to worry, I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- What is the exact laptop model number. This link will help in finding the model number: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00033108
- Are you manually trying to perform the update or was there a prompt on the screen to initiate this update.
While you respond to that. I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Power off the laptop. You may have to press and hold the power button to power it off.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
Meanwhile, let us run a hardware test on the memory outside Windows and confirm that the memory is good:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select Component tests.
-
Memory - There are three different memory tests available. If you think there is a problem with the memory, first try the Fast Test (3 minutes or more depending on the amount of system memory). If the Fast Test does not find a problem, run the Quick Test (about 15 minutes).
If the Quick Test does not find a problem, run the Memory Extensive Test. It can be run once or looped until an error occurs.
To run the memory tests, follow the steps in Memory Test.
If the memory test passes then it is a good sign that the physical memory of the laptop is fine. If the memory error comes up again please increase the virtual memory in Windows 10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M2inAZSAbo

Also, you may download and run the Windows update troubleshooter if it fails to update to Win10 1803 update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027322/windows-update-troubleshooter
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know the outcome.
Cheers!

Thanks for your reply. I truly appreciate your patience and efforts.
Let me know if the suggested steps from my previous post helped.
Secondly, during my research, I found that the Win10 1803 update is mostly successful when it is automatically rolled out by Microsoft on your computer.
Let me know. Cheers! 🙂

As others have mentioned, the poor English in this update's message is pretty disquiteing. In addition there isn't any way to know that it has finished. A message appear saying "FW Update is completed successfully.", but the update process keeps running.
I can only hope it worked, there's no real way to tell.
Overall a pretty poor effort.
