HP Pavilion Notebook - 15t-ab000 CTO (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, we replaced the hard drive in the HP Pavilion Notebook which means reinstalling the OS.  We ordered a recovery USB.  We've tried everything we can find but always get an error message that says "This computer is not supported by the System Recovery Mdia.  You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these Media".  When we ordered the recover USB, it was specificially for this notebook.  Any thoughts why the recovery USB isn't working?  On the BIOS, we moved "USB Diskette on Key/USB Hard Disk" to the top under the UEFI Boot Order and set everything else back to defaults.

Thanks,

Ana

Hi, Ana:

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you get the recovery media you puchased to work, but you can do this...

You can always clean install W10 at any time by using the Microsoft W10 media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The tool will allow you to create a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive, or save an ISO file that you can burn to a DVD using your DVD burning program's burn ISO file option.

The tool will also work with the W10 product key in your PC's BIOS and activate once you are connected to the internet.

After W10 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
