  • Issue:
    Notebook CAPS LOCK blinks 5 times on power-up and does not boot.

    Actions Taken:

    • Tried multiple reset key combinations: V, B, Win, Win+V, Win+B.

    • Removed and inspected all components on the mainboard (Part No. DA0X8JMB8E0).

    • Replaced the RTC battery (CR2016W).

    • Swapped in a different RAM module.

    • Checked the BIOS chip (Winbond 25Q128JVSQ):

      • Measured Vcc = 3V

      • /CS signal stays high after power-on (no activity).

Thank you for reaching out. Regarding the issue you’re experiencing with your Pro-book 450 G6 CAPS LOCK Blinking 5 times

 

Kindly review the instructions as below :

- Appreciate you have tried a few troubleshooting steps yourself -

  • Tried multiple reset key combinations: V, B, Win, Win+V, Win+B.

  • Removed and inspected all components on the mainboard (Part No. DA0X8JMB8E0).

  • Replaced the RTC battery (CR2016W).

  • Swapped in a different RAM module.

  • Checked the BIOS chip (Winbond 25Q128JVSQ):

    • Measured Vcc = 3V

    • /CS signal stays high after power-on (no activity).

- Check the DC In charging port LED Status with the HP charger shipped with the unit

- Test the charger shipped with device on any other HP compatible device
- test different but same capacity and HP adapter only with the device 

- Use Battery Ship Mode 

Enable ship mode in the BIOS (f10) menu with a key sequence (HP Business Notebook PCs only)

Use a key sequence to enable ship mode in the BIOS on select business notebook PCs.

  1. Connect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

  2. After you turn on the computer and before the operating system loads, press f10 to enter the Computer Setup Utility (BIOS).

  3. Press the Windows + backspace + power keys to enter the computer ship mode.
