HP Notebook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few days ago my laptops hdd quit working, When i tried to boot it up again it said that there was no os installed on the hard drive. I have since then decided to buy a kingston 480Gb ssd  and 32gb flash drive to put in the laptop. My hope is to download the windows 10 installation files onto the usb and transfer them to the ssd and boot it. I couldnt find my product key but heard a rumor that hp has the product key somewhere on the laptop and i wont have to get it to activate windows, Is this true?

Hi:

If your notebook came with W10 from HP, the product key is in the BIOS and you will not need to know it or enter it when you reinstall W10.
