Dear experts, I have an HP ProBook 4540s Notebook PC that I bought in 2013. The hard drive has died and I don't have a Windows backup. There was a Windows 10 update. Is it possible to somehow find a product key for Windows 10? HP Cloud Recovery Tool for this laptop is not valid. Thank you very much for your help.

If you had 7 or 8 pro then you need to install 10 pro
else 10 home
Download the windows 10 iso here
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
select the option to install on another system.
Skip the dialog that asks for the activation key.
after logging in, see if it is activated. If it is not activated then download from the windows store the application
ShowKeyPlus
and use the the revealed key to activate windows 10
