dm3 notebook pc
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I know this notebook is old now, but even when it was still current and maintained I could never find its product page for downloading the latest drivers and BIOS updates.

I still have use for this machine and again I tried but I can never find the drivers on HP's support page. The auto detection just freezes on this specific machine. I have older HP computers that I have no problem finding the drivers for. This one always puzzled me. Any help locating the product page/drivers? (I'm especially interested in updating the BIOS since its still the original version).

HP Pavilion dm3t notebook PC

Model: dm3t-1000 (that's what is on the sticker on the back. I've seen it also refereed to as dm3-1000 -without the t)

Product number: VB255AV

Thank you for your help!

You're very welcome.

Only a couple of drivers from the dm1-4100 model series would have worked on yours.

As I posted the other day...the site is trustworthy.

I used 7-zip to extract the driver files out of the exe files and they all seemed fine.

If you really don't trust it, you can get the sp##### numbers listed for the download and find them on the HP ftp site.

You have to use Internet explorer to open the site or use Edge in Internet explorer mode.

Hi:

HP retired support for that model series since it is more than 10 years old, which is why you can't find any drivers for it.

This reputable 3rd party website has the drivers you need for your PC.

Thank you for the quick reply!

I did find that site you linked to and others similar when googling but I've always been suspicious of them and didn't think of trying them. If I'm completely out of official options and its trusted by the community I might swallow the pill and try.

Its weird because even at year 5-6 of ownership I could never find the product page on hp.com. I have older desktops that I can find the drivers for.

This is another laptop that is similar in age but still has its drivers online:

I don't know why HP is making it difficult for this specific models or maybe they have an error in their database?

Am I truly out of options except trusting 3rd party sites?

Thanks again!

At this point it doesn't look like I'll get anything remotely official.

I have no choice at this point but to accept Paul_Tikkanen's suggestion. I have updated the BIOS from driverscollection.com and marked his answer as the accepted one. Here is hoping I didn't compromise my system 🙂

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Paul! I think the best answer is in both of your replies. I was able to download the same files from the ftp site you linked.

They might be the same ones but at least I get the piece of mind that I got them from HP 🙂
