Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

I have 2 questions.

1. What is the point in staying in S mode?

2. This is a "floor model" pc and I'd like to know if I should perform a factory reset and if I should click "keep my files" to keep the office suite on the laptop. CurrentlyI'm running in a workgroup and there is a person "logged in" presumably from Best Buy.

@Jennipow

Given the date of your post, I would have expected someone to respond to it before this -- but since that has not happened, I will take a shot at it ...

The whole point of S mode depends on WHO you ask.  MS claims it makes your PC more secure by limiting your applications to those available from the MS store. Since most infections come from folks accessing the Internet, not running bogus applications, this claim doesn't carry much weight.

You CAN covert the PC to get it OUT of S-mode, but that is a one-way street.  You would need to search online for instructions to do that.
