RAID vs Non RAID

Hi guys,

I accidentally went to the BIOS and reset my HDD to "non raid". Could someone please instruct me how to turn it back? Or if I just leave it "non raid", will my HDD will get any problem, or the Intel Optane won't work properly, or my laptop will get any other problem? I would be really appreciated.

P/S - I have tried to contact the HP customer support. There was a guy told me to do something with the Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology. Unfortunately, I got disconnected from the call and couldn't contact him again... Anw, hope someone will help me out. Thank you very much.

By the way, anyone knows which RAID (0, 1 , 5, 6, 10) is the default configuration of my laptop model HP 15-cx0077wm? Thank you very much.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

There is a way to check whether this computer goes with Raid or non-raid: (suggested by server fault website)

1. Rick click on the "computer" icon on the desktop or the computer item in the Start Menu
2. Select Manage
3. Expand Storage
4. Click on Disk Management
5. In the bottom center pane you'll see Disk 0, Disk 1, etc
6. On the left column under the Disk number, you'll see the word Basic or Dynamic

If your disks all say Basic then you either don't have RAID arrays on them or you have hardware RAID.

If your disks say Dynamic and you see the same drive letter on multiple drives you have software RAID.
