Hi I have a new HP laptop and for some reason It keeps going back to the screensaver mid use, and also the zoom keeps altering mid use as well, sometimes making the page go really small or large, is it something I am doing or the laptop

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand the laptop switches to screensaver or zooms in & out on its own,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
With regards to the zooming issue, did you check if the CTRL key is stuck? as that may cause such issues?
When was the last time it worked without issues?
While you respond to that, I recommend you attempt a system restore an earlier date and time it had been working fine.
That said, this PC seems to have been shipped with WIndows 10, however, you've mentioned that it's WinXP, does this mean the OS has been downgraded to WinXP using a retail copy of windows.
HP Doesn't recommend installing the OS using a retail copy of windows, as you can always utilize the HP Recovery media to install the OEM back anytime.
If you didn't create one on your computer after it was purchased, you could always order one online using this link
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Thanks the laptop is brand new and a lot more resposive than my old reconditioned one, I think it was me pressing the keys a bit too hard, it seems to have sorted it's self out as I have got used to it, thanks for the help though.
