HP 6715S
Microsoft Windows XP

After my original posts in 2019 finally managed to recover my hp6715s xp laptop recently by replacing the hard drive and using an external dvd drive to load recovery discs. The internal optical drive does not function.

Now that the laptop is working I would like to make a new set of recovery discs/floppy  (have external floppy drive)

The 3 dvd recovery discs created  are from the original installation in 2007 and one of the tree discs sometimes is a problem.

No options (can not find it) to create recovery disc/backup disc. floppy  boot etc so in the future I have recovery options on new discs created .

@ALF82

First off, are you REALLY running Windows XP -- a ten year old OS? If not, then you need to start by providing us ACCURATE information

Second, is it really floppy disks you are looking to create?  Even CDs would be better than those as you would need LOTS of floppy disks to do an image backup.

We can proceed when you provide the information.
Thanks

thanks for reply

The old xp machine is used only for old software, although fully operational I avoid browsing with it as insecure.

my newer computers use windows 10.

I have found googling online the instructions for creating a recovery disc and also how to create hard disc image on discs which  requires a file from the xp original disc, mine was preloaded so will download the file from the internet and give it a try later.

If I get stuck will come back to you.

It is the only machine that can use my old floppy's to transfer data, windows 10 struggles to read a floppy drive.

Also many old xp programmes/software just will not run in widows 10 even in compatibility mode.

I use it mainly for photography, much of the software did not update to windows 10 and is outdated or replaced.

Windows 10 does not have xp mode as did windows 7, tried virtual box  but found difficult to use, so the old xp laptop is still a handy machine to deal with older software, and cameras dating back a few years that had software  discs with them.

Thanks, alf82
