I could not find a "ec0098ax" model.

I did find this model series and Specifications for "ec0093ax"

HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0093ax Product Specifications

Nothing in the Specifications mentions Office - this is not unusual though in some cases, when Office is included as Trial version, it might be mentioned.

If the seller is HP, that is, you purchased your computer from the HP store, and licensed Office is included "for free" as you say or if you purchased Office with the computer, the Office license key would likely have been sent to you via email with your purchase confirmation / information.

In almost every single case otherwise, any "Office" software that shows up on the new computer is Trial Software.  That is, it works for a limited amount of time, and then you have to purchase a license to continue using it.

Sellers say things.

Sellers say true things and sellers say other things.

You'll need a license to run Office, regardless of what else is going on, that is true.

Help from Other Seller

If someone else (Not HP) sold the computer to you and told you that licensed Office is free, then you can perhaps have the conversation with that store / merchant on how to get your key.

Help from Microsoft

If you wish to purchase Office or want to convince Microsoft that you have a license, have that conversation with Microsoft.

Remember "what the seller" says won't be enough, you will need some form of written confirmation that you are supposed to have licensed Office.

How-to

Microsoft - Activate Office

With Key - Install Office on your PC or Mac

Help from HP

If HP sold that computer to you and you have confirmation that the computer includes licensed Office, then the issue can likely be sorted with HP.

I will submit a request for help.
