i am running win11 on my Pavilion PC 15-eg0073cl. I am trying to set it up so I can use imaging software for backup and restore. The software can make a valid image but when I boot from the usb, it boots up fine but the software cant "see" the hard drive. It can only see the usb drive. I had the laptop in for a hd replacement from Costco Concierge service and this is the end result. They don't understand the problem and say that it's a software issue and they don't cover software issues. It came back to me with windows 10 on it. I tried numerous times to get it to install but again, it could not see the HD. I pulled the HD out and cloned it to another win11 laptop. It wouldn't boot so I put in a rescue usb I had made from the same laptop some time ago using win11 and it finally installed win11 but I still can't run a recovery program like acronis or O an O , or R-Drive Image and get it to find the HD.
SORRY THIS IS SO LONG.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:
You will probably have to get support from the backup software manufacturer for the problem you are having.
I know what the problem is, but I only know how to fix it on a clean install of Windows 10/W11.
You need to have the correct storage controller driver for Windows to 'see' the drive and I assume that you need this driver for your backup software as well. How you get it into your backup USB drive's configuration, that I do not know, unless it asks you to install a driver.
Then you can use the same one in the discussion below.

You're very welcome.
Hopefully by now your backup software vendor has release an update/patch to include this driver in the bootable rescue media, so I recommend you ask them if they have an update that includes the Intel storage controller drivers needed for the 11th gen core processors.
This generation processor has been out for around two years now.
