I had no clue as to why I paid for 8gb ram whereas I got only 5.92 to my availability but going through some of the threads I realized this issue is not so common at all and I'm not the only one a portion of my ram is being reserved by gpu which makes me think what hp is really doing to resolve it as this is firmware problem not able to halt its consumption while it is not being used furthermore you can't even disable it ....
Although I think i don't really have high hopes for this post to reach the so-called HP or MICROSOFT experts or whomever this may concern worst part is this issue has been circulating around for 4 whole years
Now my main question is
Can I Install additional RAM on this computer or would i need to replace it with another??

That AMD cpu gets its video memory from the motherboard. Occasionally there is a bios adjustment to specify how much to share. Gamers generally want more than the default.
Anyway, your parts list is here

You have a single stick of memory and could easily add an identical stick.

there is the possibility that alternate memory might have been used. Please use WMIC to check the memory you have and see if an alternate source (part number) is there
An easy way to find what memory you have is to run the wmic app from the windows command prompt. Bring up the window "cmd" prompt and enter
wmic memorychip get devicelocator, capacity, speed, MemoryType, formfactor, partnumber, manufacturer
Should look something like the following. To purchase identical memory use the part number shown
1082 was not listed but 1081 and 1083 were

might be cheaper there
