Hi everyone,

My laptop has been randomly shutting down a lot lately for no apparent reason. It doesn’t seem to have an obvious reason for shutting down. When it shuts down, the screen goes black, and the fans start spinning like crazy (even when not onder any load). Then it turns back on again like nothing happened. The laptop doesn’t seem to be overheating. I’ve monitored the temperatures, and it idles between 50°C and 70°C. Occasionally, it spikes to a very high 95°C to 100°C, even when I’m doing nothing. I’ve checked by feeling the bottom of the laptop and the power brick, but they aren’t hot either. It doesn’t show any obvious errors in the Windows log, and it doesn’t matter if the laptop is plugged into the charger.

Things I’ve tried to fix it:

  • Installed every BIOS, driver, and system update (also using the HP Support Assistant).
  • Opened the laptop to check for obvious damage to the motherboard (there was none, and the motherboard is clean from dust and hair).
  • Checked if the fans are blocked or difficult to spin (they work correctly).
  • Ran all hardware and software diagnostic tests in the HP hardware program to identify any issues (all tests passed successfully, and the battery condition was reported as "OK").
  • Used the `SFC /scannow` command in CMD to check for any corrupt files (none were found).
  • Checked the Windows log for obvious errors. There were some, but they don’t seem related. (The most common errors or warnings are DistributedCOM 100010/100016 and Kernel-PnP 216.)

I have had this laptop for over four and a half years nog and it started doin this almost four months ago. The warranty unfortunately ended more then a year ago so i cant get is replaced. If you guys know any sollution, please let me know!
