My Elite x2 1012 G1 finally got the windows 10 1809 update offered yesterday. When I tried to install, it failed with the error message "the system reserved partition could not be updated" (translated, I am using a German Windows). I searched for a solution, add this is most probably related to a 100MB system partition,  but there was no way to increase it in size. I am stuck now.

Any ideas besides a complete new installation?

@DB2OO

Sorry, but basically, yes -- you are stuck.

I ran into the same situation with an older HP DV6 when I tried to upgrade it to Win10.

But, I was able to use partitioning tools and increase the size of the system reserved partition to 350MB

You will have to search online for a tool that will allow you to make bootable media -- as you can't be running Windows and resize the system reserved partition while it is running.

Minitool and EaseUS both make partitioning tools you can download.
