Hello,
I experienced the same problem after a compelete reinstallation of my system.
After install all the driver pack using HP support assistant, and updated using Windows Update,
HP Audio Control is automatically installed, yet HP Audio Switch is compeletely missing, not in the program list, store list or taskbar.
Looking forward to your reply.

Do you still get the HP Auto switch Box appearing after reinstalling Windows and all the HP updates?
1. Right-click the home button (the Windows logo)
2. Select Task Manager
3. Scroll down until you see "HP Audio Switch"
4. Select it and click "End Task"
Note: Please explore one by one under the Processes, Startup and Services tab and check if there is a mention of the HP Audio Switch box and if there is then right click and END it.

My apologies for the confusion which happened due to the Title "RE: HP Audio Switch box wont go away " which you mentioned and also it looks like you were replying to a similar Thread with the issue " HP Audio Switch box wont go away ".
The Head Title mentioned and the Forum Thread which you were trying to post on is different from your issue, hence the confusion.
The HP Audio Switch Box should automatically get installed along with the Audio drivers.
You mentioned that you did a complete reinstall of the Windows. May I know how did you reinstall the OS? Did you use the HP Recovery Media?
If you did not use the HP Recovery Media, then I suggest you reinstall Windows using the HP Recovery
