Hi, I'm new here.
I have a HP 255 G6 Windows10 64 bit but with AMD E2-9000e APU and I really can't stand W10
I have a valid official windows7 Pro 64 bit that I want to install on my HP (I already know support will end soon and I'm fine with it)
Could you help me too with the other drivers? Also, can you give some advice regarding BIOS / UEFI ?
Thank you.
Kind regards

Hi:
I'll be happy to help you to install W7...
1. In order to install and run W7, you must go into the BIOS, enable Legacy Mode, and disable Secure Boot.
W7 is not compatible with secure boot. See this link for the settings to change.
https://www.support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03736054/
That is all the help I can give you regarding BIOS / UEFI. There may be a way to install W7 in UEFI mode if you can keep secure boot disabled, but I have no idea how to do it.
2. If you are installing W7 with a USB flash drive, you need to boot it from the notebook's USB 2 port.
After you install W7 x64 bit, here are the links to most of the drivers you need...
Chipset: Select the W10/W7 driver, install and restart the PC. 4th file down on the list.
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-9-series-chipsets/990fx
Graphics: Select the W7 driver install and restart the PC.
Audio: Accept the agreement. Download and install the Windows 64 bit driver and restart the PC.
Ethernet: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver file at the link below...
SD card reader: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below.
Touchpad:

I don't know what model wifi adapter your notebook has, so let me know which one you have before wiping out W10.
You can find that info in the device manager under the network adapters device manager category.
Then I can give you the link to the W7 wifi driver.

Hi.
First of all thank you so much for your reply.
In “network adapters” menu I have:
Intel Dual Band Wireless - AC 3168 (driver version 19.51.15.3) and
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (driver version 9.1.409.2015)
I also see as safety device an AMD PSP 2.0 device (driver version 4.9.0.0). Do I need to reinstall it and what does it do?
Thank you again

You're very welcome.
For the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, I have already posted the driver for that above.
For the Intel 3168 you need these wifi and Bluetooth drivers for W7.
You should be all set to install W7 now.
If there are any other drivers you need after you have installed W7 that I haven't posted, please name the device and post the hardware ID for it.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

I also have a HP DWDRW GUE1N but I guess after installing windows the unit will be detected automatically.
Honestly, you were very kind and extremely helpful. Thank you again so much.
As soon as I install W7 I’ll let you know how it went.
Kind regards
