Hi:

 

You need to install the Atheros wireless LAN driver for the operating system you need from your notebook's support page.

Yep, if you don't see the Atheros wifi adapter listed under the network adapters device manager category.

 

Where did you get the ID from?  If it was from a device labeled Network Controller, then yes, the driver should get it to work.
