Maybe this instruction will help:

Hi everyone. I am a multi brand laptop store owner. The simple solution for this error is you only have to press Y on the screen to clear the tpm after that press F1 or fn+F1 key to proceed with that setting. after this restart your laptop and there you go. Your problem is solved.

Thank you very much. Your solution worked for me. First, I pressed the Y button and then, while holding Fn, I pressed the F1 button and the system restarted. Now I don't get error anymore and TPM option is back in bios.

Thank you for your effort.

First, it didn't even pass 1 year since I bought my laptop, it is covered by factory warranty, and still several problems happened that I can't explain.

I am afraid this does not solve the main problem that I have. As I said, no option in BIOS fixed my problem - I had to manually clear TPM and reset my PIN to what it was in order to start windows. So it was clearly a faulty BIOS update. Why does HP not test their software to make sure it works properly in the first place?

Besides that, the laptop restarted on its own before installing the update - that is not normal behavior as it will first give me a notification if it is working correctly.

So in the end, what causes problems that are essential to normal system function of the laptop?

I don't know more about the Problem. Sorry.

I have called the telephone-support and get the hint of the employee.

There is no need to apologize. I appreciate that you wanted to help, I am grateful for that.

Did it ask for the bitloker recovery key?

HP Recommended

No it didn’t ask for bitlocker, but I don’t have bitlocker a so maybe that’s why

Doe's this delete any of my files? Or do i get to keep all my files?

HP Recommended

Your files will not be deleted.

Hello, my wife have a HP Notebook and since some month (I think, there was a BIOS-Update like other said) the message with the issue with TPM is showed, but nor every boot, only sometimes.

When I press N, it boots normal to Windows, but if my wife log in to her account, the settings are gone (icons on Desktop, background and so on). So, I logged her out and in again, and all data are avaiable.

So it looks a little bit different to all shown problems here, but I will try the "Z" (german keyboard) and hope, this fix the problem finaly.
