HP Beats Special Edition 15-p030nr Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

After performing a fresh windows 10 installation  you will need to install sp72093.exe to get the Realtek PCIE CardReader to work

Hi @random_user_123,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

We appreciate you taking the time to document the solution you found for the HP Beats Special Edition 15-p030nr Notebook PC after performing a clean installation of Windows 10.

For other users who may come across this post, it is worth noting that this notebook is an older platform and has reached the later stages of its support lifecycle. As a result, newer operating systems may not automatically install all device drivers during a fresh installation.

If the Realtek PCIe Card Reader is not functioning after reinstalling Windows, installing the appropriate HP driver package can help restore functionality. Users should always obtain drivers from the official HP support page for their product whenever possible to ensure compatibility and security.

In addition, we recommend:

  • Running Windows Update, including Optional Updates, after the installation is complete.
  • Installing the HP chipset drivers before installing other device-specific drivers.
  • Verifying Device Manager for any unknown devices or devices with warning icons.
  • Downloading and installing drivers directly from the HP support website for the notebook model.

Thank you again for sharing your experience and helping other users who may encounter the same issue.
