HP x2 Detachable 10-p010nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Recently downloaded and installed Windows 10 on my HP x2 Detachable and it has been starting and restarting for 2 days now. It says it is trying to “Undoing changes made to your computer.”

any ideas if restarts are to take more than a day to update?

Had to “Free up space” on hard drive to an external memory card to Complete the update.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

It means that you have to turn on your computer and the Windows 10 update needs more space.

I am glad to know that you managed to resolve the issue. Please reach out again for any further assistance.

Hope this helps!

Let me rephrase my question.

I have been trying to update my HP x2 Detachable from windows 8 to windows 10 since I bought it about a year ago now. I added additional storage as requested by adding a 128gig micro sd card. I even removed some apps to free up space on hard drive. I repeatedly tried to down load the windows update but the process kept asking for more space as it would not recognize the added SD card. This last time (4days ago) it finally recognized the SD card and I was able to complete the windows 10 update download. It asked if I wanted to “update now” or schedule an update time and I selected “now.” It shut my computer down and began the update by attempting to restart. It has been shutting down and restarting for 4 days now with the message that it needs to “undo changes made to my computer” and stuck in this cycle since then. With no way to escape the cycle.

@Niccor

Thank you for posting back.

This sounds like windows 10 operating system image is not getting installed correctly.

Let's try this method to install windows 10 OS:
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06162205 to Use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
