I bought an HP Pavilion m4-1003tx Notebook laptop which came with the original windows 8 64 bit.
Currently, I have windows 10 installed but it is not working properly.
I wish to go back to my original windows 8 factory condition.
I have no key no details anything.
Can anyone guide me what is the process to go back to windows 8 (Factory condition)
What are the steps to recover the windows 8 key from notebook bios?
Can one recover the keys before installing Windows 8 ?

Hi:
The only way you can go back to the factory edition of W8 would be to contact HP support in India and see if they still have W8 recovery media for your notebook, which I highly doubt they do.
I can give you a way to reinstall W8.1 for free by using the W8 product key in your notebook's BIOS. That would be the best that I or anyone else here can do for you...
Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.
This is the generic key for W8.1 'Standard.'

When you get to the screen that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space. Click Next, and W8.1 should begin to install.
If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.
After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.
I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.
Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

If the Showkey Plus report shows that the W8 product key is good for W8 Single Language, go back and download the W8.1 64 bit Single Language ISO file, and use this generic product key instead.

Thank you Paul for your reply. I had installed Windows 8 following the above method. Once I run the Show Key Plus, my OEM edition is Windows 8 RTM core Single Language so I guess I need to install Windows 8.1 Single Language again. I have now two Queries
1: Now since I have the OEM key for windows 8 which I got from Show Key Plus software after windows 8.1 installation, can I use that same key during installation of Windows 8.1 Single Language, or do I need to enter the generic key during instalation and then follow your steps.
2: How do we manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu ?. Do you mean to say Is it just like you Activate Windows and enter your key?
Thank you for your support. Please forgive me if I have asked something basic as I don't have much knowledge related to this.

Thank you Paul for your prompt response. Finally, I did it and this time during installation for Windows 8.1 single Language it did not ask me for any key. Windows got Activated. Thank you so much once again for all the support. Quite happy to solve this.
