HP Notebook 15-dy1751ms
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The hard drive in my laptop has died so I cannot boot it.  I want to replace the hard drive but I did not make a record of my Windows 10 product key before the failure occurred.  I have downloaded a copy of Windows 10 from Microsoft but I "assume" that I will need to provide my Product Key when I install Windows on the new drive.  How can I find my product key?  Will HP help me from their records?

The Windows product key is encrypted in your notebook's BIOS.

You won't need it to reinstall W10.

After you replace the NVMe SSD, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool to make a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

You can download the Cloud recovery tool software from the Microsoft Store.

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store

Since you will have to install and run the utility on another PC (as yours is not working), you will have to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to create the recovery media.

Your notebook's product number is 7PA07UA#ABA
